Busy Busy Spring!!

It is hard to believe that we only have 27 days left of school! We will be very very busy for the rest of the year! We need you to email us or write a note telling us your child's full name for the diploma! Don't forget to order your Field Day shirt by Friday4/22. It is optional but almost everyone does order one. You don't need to know if you are on the red team or the black team. Your child's teacher will divide up the kids and let you know that soon. We also need every child to send in a candy filled egg for each child in his/her class by Thursday but the sooner, the better! This week our story is On The Move. We will work with the letters V and Z and our comprehension skill is Main Idea.

Upcoming Events

April 22-Easter party...all of the kids need a candy filled egg for every student in the class

April 26-K -5 Graduation Pictures...kids need to wear KHAKI bottoms and a WHITE shirt

April 29-Strawberry Patch field trip

May 13-Field Day - early dissmissal for lower school at the end of field day 11:00-ish

May 26-Last Day of school for kindergarten and Kindergarten Graduation

Spring is already busy busy busy!

Sandy Creek Nature Center field trip is Tuesday 3/22.

Individual Spring Pictures will be taken on Wednesday 3/23. These are "pre-pay" and a pre-pay envelope will go home by Friday. If your child is paying to have their picture taken, he/she is allowed to wear a nice spring outfit that day rather than the uniform. If they are not paying to buy an individual spring picture, he/she needs to wear a GWA uniform that day.

Grandparents/Special Friends Day is Friday 3/25!! Early release for all students in lower school

Class pictures will be Monday 3/28. Everyone will be in the picture whether you are purchasing one or not. Kids will wear a GWA uniform that day.

Space Day is Friday April 1st

A note from the K5Lucky Dawg Art Auction committee

Each year, GWA students and families participate by creating projects to raise money to support GWA through the Lucky Dawg Art Auction. This year, all of the projects created by the students are grade-level projects. The K-5 has an awesome project this year. We will have a dog house (or pet house) that has been built from a kit by one of our K-5 families. Our Pet Package includes services from Ashley Hills, a pet bed, and wood chips.
We need your help to complete our K-5 project! We are asking if each K-5 family might contribute $2.00 by 3/17 to cover the cost of the dog house kit and the additional purchase of any materials to complete the project. We will send home envelopes next Monday.
Can you sew? We would love to have you contribute your skills and enthusiasm to this project! If you might be interested in making a pet bed for our project, please email Ashley Roesler at ashley.roesler@gmail.com!

Keep up the reading for Six Flags and Book It Reading Programs!

Continue to work on Family Times, the little Readers that come home, Rainbow Words, Blending Words and Challenges!

Pajama Day was a huge success! Only in kindergarten can you have this much fun!

The book fair is coming to GWA next week, January 31--February 4. You are welcome to join us in the lower school media center (on the preview or shopping day) to shop with your child.

Last week in January updates

Pajama day is this Friday 1/28. Kids can wear pj's and bring slippers small stuffed animal. We will eat breakfast for lunch in our room that day so they will not need a lunch box.

Walk of Fame this Thursday 1/27 for those who have completed 1 challenge in January

Monday 1/31 100th Day Celebration. We are collecting 100 cans in kindergarten

Exit onto highway 129 (exit 22)-towards Gainesville.
Go approximately .5 miles.
Go straight through two red lights.
Take the next left onto Chestnut Street.
Park in first parking lot on your right.
INK’s entrance is located on the Chestnut Street side of building in the middle section
(Formerly the Warren Featherbone building).

Directions from 400N

Go down Hwy. 53 East(Dawsonville Hwy).
~this is a right after the outlet malls after a Wendy’s
Hwy 53 East turn into Jesse Jewell take a left.
Turn right onto Hwy 129 (EE Butler Parkway) at the Lanier Centre Hotel.
Stay on your right hand side approximately ¾ of a mile.
Turn right onto Chestnut Street.
Turn right into the first parking lot on the right. We are located in The Featherbone Center. Main entrance in center of building.

Directions from Dahlonega

Drive Hwy 60 to Gainesville.
Continue on Hwy 60/Hwy 129 onto Green Street.
Just past the US Post Office which is on your left, you will continue down Hwy 129 which angles off to your left.
Go one mile and make the next right onto Chestnut Street.
Park in the first parking lot on the right. We are located in The Featherbone Center. Main Entrance in the center of building.
